Intermittent Traffic Paces Scheduled on Turnpike Early Morning March 20

Paces needed for overhead bridge beam removal

NEW STANTON, PA (03/15/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike advises motorist traveling between the Somerset (#110) and Donegal (#91) exits of traffic paces in both directions. The paces will take place between 11:59 p.m. Sat., March 19 and 6 a.m. on Sun., March 20 each pace will last a maximum of 15 minutes.

During this 6-hour period traffic will be slowed using a series of 15 minute paces controlled by the Pennsylvania State Police. The paces will allow the general contractor, Mosites Construction, to remove overhead steel floor beams and main girders from the overpass bridge located at Milepost 104.9 that carries Coxes Creek Road over the Turnpike.

Motorists are urged to stay alert for slow moving traffic when approaching this area.
