Iowa State Education Association members to speak at public hearing
Pro-worker rally at Capitol on Monday
DES MOINES, IA (03/05/2011)(readMedia)-- Members of the Iowa State Education Association (ISEA) will be speaking at the public hearing on Monday, March 7, scheduled from 6:00 – 8:15pm in the House chamber at the Capitol.
The public hearing is on House File 525. Educators will be addressing their concerns about the negative impact of this legislation on the rights of public employees.
Educators who are scheduled to speak include:
Dave O'Connor, Social Studies teacher, Merrill Middle School, Des Moines
Jay Fink, Elementary Education, Oskaloosa Community School District
Tammy Wawro, Vice President, ISEA, Cedar Rapids School District
Melissa Spencer, Des Moines Education Association President, North High School Science teacher, Des Moines
Mike Berenak, Western Hills Elementary, West Des Moines School District
