Future teachers volunteer time at Studebaker Elementary in Des Moines

DES MOINES, IA (09/29/2011)(readMedia)-- The Iowa State Education Association's student members will host an Outreach to Teach event at Studebaker Elementary school in Des Moines.

WHO:

Iowa State Education Association student members and staff from the Des Moines public school district.

WHAT:

Nearly 50 ISEA college student members and ISEA advisors will converge on Studebaker Elementary school in Des Moines to help rennovate the school yard by placing mulch around trees, cleaning out fence rows, cleaning walls and lunch tables and putting up new bulletin boards around the school. 

The event is part of the national  Outreach to Teach program which started in 1996 as a way for the National Education Association's college members to give back to their local communities.
