Iowa teacher to win prestigious national award
President Obama will name Johnston, Iowa teacher National Teacher of the Year
DES MOINES, IA (04/28/2010)(readMedia)-- In a White House ceremony tomorrow, President Obama will name Iowa teacher, Sarah Brown Wessling, the 2010 National Teacher of the Year. Wessling is a tenth through twelfth grade English teacher at Johnston High School in Johnston, Iowa. She will become the 60th National Teacher of the Year and will be awarded with the oldest and most prestigious award for teachers in the country. As National Teacher of the Year, Wessling will devote herself fulltime for a year as a national and international spokesperson for education beginning June 1, 2010.
