Jalina Rodriguez takes first SAA weekly award of season

Oglethorpe University sophomore midfielder Jalina Rodriguez earned Southern Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honors from the league office on Monday, marking her first career SAA weekly award.

Rodriguez led Oglethorpe to a 14-11 win over Truett McConnell University. The Stormy Petrel midfielder finished with five ground balls and six caused turnovers. She also totaled two goals on four shots. Rodriguez currently holds the early SAA lead in caused turnovers with those six, while also placing herself in the top three in ground balls.
