SPARTANBURG, SC (04/28/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College alumnus Jason Perry O'Quinn Jr. was accorded Wofford College's highest academic honor Thursday, April 22, when she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
O'Quinn has been an officer in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and played in the Concert Band, and served for two years as president of the Wofford Outdoors Club. A religion major, he participated in Wofford's summer archaeological program in Israel, for which he also received a research grant from the South Carolina Colleges and Universities. O'Quinn also received high honors for his senior honors course in religion, an examination of American Judaism as a case study in religion and globalization. A recipient of the B.A. degree in 2009, O'Quinn recently has been accepted into graduate school at Duke University. Twenty-nine Wofford College students and recent graduates were initiated as members-in-course during the ceremony that marked the 69th anniversary of Phi Beta Kappa at Wofford.
