Jefferson School of Pharmacy Students Advance in the ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge

PHILADELPHIA, PA (09/23/2013)(readMedia)-- Fourth-year Jefferson School of Pharmacy (JSP) students Michael Reedy, Sarah Mahon, and Ryan O'Connor have qualified to compete in the quarterfinals of the ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge. The quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds will take place at the 2013 ACCP Annual Meeting, October 13–16, 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Students representing more than 100 pharmacy schools entered the annual competition. After four rounds of online matches, teams from eight schools qualified to move onto the in-person rounds held at the national conference. Notably, this marks the second consecutive year teams from JSP have advanced to the quarterfinals.
Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Cynthia A. Sanoski, B.S., Pharm.D., FCCP, BCPS, commented, "The faculty at the Jefferson School of Pharmacy are extremely proud of Michael, Sarah, and Ryan for making it so far in the competition." Dr. Sanoski said, "Their ability to answer such difficult patient- and medication-based questions in this competition has been remarkable."
