Join New Students for the Nazareth Orientation Day of Service, FRIDAY August 24

ROCHESTER, NY (08/22/2018) At Nazareth College, Orientation for new students includes a community service component. Nazareth's Day of Service will be held on Friday, August 24th. More than 700 students (first year, transfer and international students) along with student orientation leaders, faculty and staff travel to one of 32 service sites within the community. The Nazareth College Orientation Day of Service has several goals:

  • To introduce new students to the core value of service at Nazareth College and explore the relevance of service to the college's mission.
  • To introduce new students to the community which they are now a member of. To help students identify some of the assets and strengths as well as the challenges present in the community.
  • To meet some of the community challenges.
  • To introduce new students to the concept of Civic Engagement.
  • To introduce students to a variety of careers and job experiences that support the public good.
  • To give students an opportunity to get to know each other.
