SPARTANBURG, SC (05/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Wofford College senior Katherine Rankin received the departmental award for art history during Honors Day ceremonies held May 11.
Rankin is a double major in art history and economics. She is a Dean's list student, a Success Initiative Scholar, a member of the President's Advisory Board, and the Presidential Seminar. Rankin studied art and global economics in London, and interned with the architectural firm McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, helping to design the meeting space for the Spartanburg Children's Advocacy Board. After graduation she will embark on a prestigious marketing internship at the High Museum in Atlanta. Parent: Jennifer Rankin (Atlanta, Ga., 30305).
The academic major awards are made by the faculty to seniors recommended by the major departments on the basis of academic achievement, character and intellectual promise. Some of the awards are named in honor of persons who have made significant contributions to the intellectual life of the college.
