Katie LeSuer of Cairo, NY Performs in Nazareth College's "Dames at Sea"

ROCHESTER, NY (11/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Katie LeSuer of Cairo, N.Y., is on the production staff with the Nazareth College Theatre Department for Dames at Sea, A Musical Comedy, during its 2011-2012 season.

Dames at Sea takes place on November 12 at 8:00 p.m., November 13 at 2:00 p.m., November 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m., November 18 and 19 at 8:00 p.m., and November 20 at 2:00p.m. All showings of the musical take place in the Nazareth College Arts Center in Studio A48. A highly energetic and entertaining homage, Dames at Sea is sure to entertain audiences of all ages and interests. Described by the New York Times as, "A winner! A gem of a musical!", Dames at Sea takes its audience back to the 1930s, where it commemorates musicals that introduced Hollywood legends such as Dick Powell, Joan Blondell, Ruby Keeler and Gene Kelly. Books and lyrics are by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, with music by Jim Wise. The musical takes its audience back in time to the 1930s, where an understudy is given the leading role in a Broadway performance and becomes famous as a result. A well-known parody, Dames at Sea is filled with humor, romance, and music that is sure to captivate any audience.

Nazareth College Department of Theatre Arts offers undergraduate programs in Theatre Arts, Theatre Arts with Adolescent Certification in English, Theatre Arts with Inclusive Education Certification, and Music Theatre. The department presents an annual production season at the Nazareth College Arts Center each academic year.
