CHICOPEE, MA (05/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Kayla Moreau of Barrington, Rhode Island, was awarded the St. Catherine Medal at Elms College's annual Honors Convocation. The recipient of this award, nominated by faculty members, is a junior who has demonstrated leadership and service to her college. This award is sponsored by Kappa Gamma Pi. The medal depicts the traditional patroness of Kappa Gamma Pi, St. Catherine of Alexandria, encircled by the wheel of her legendary martyrdom and holding a quill and scroll, which symbolize learning and wisdom.
Moreau, an early childhood education major, will begin her senior year at Elms in September.
