On March 26th, Kellenberg Memorial High School proudly recognized a group of juniors and seniors who successfully completed the school's first-ever Introduction to Cybersecurity course, marking an exciting step forward in expanding innovative, forward-thinking learning opportunities.
The Introduction to Cybersecurity course provided students with a strong foundation in digital defense, exploring essential security concepts such as the CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability) while also examining the mechanics behind major real-world cyber breaches. Through hands-on experience in a cloud-hosted Cyber Range, students worked with industry-standard tools including Kali Linux, Wireshark, and Nmap, developing practical skills in network scanning, packet analysis, and firewall configuration. The course culminated with advanced threat mitigation strategies, introducing students to the principles of Defense in Depth and the NIST framework for Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR).
