Kevin Anderson Twice Named CAA Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Freshman guard Kevin Anderson was named the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week on Dec. 18 and Dec. 26.

Anderson scored 12 points and led the Blue Hens with a season-high 12 rebounds to post his first career double-double in Delaware's 68-59 overtime win at Delaware State on Dec. 17. He added two steals and an assist in 41 minutes of action, and scored the first basket of the extra session that put the Blue Hens in front for good.

The freshman guard led Delaware with 22 points and tied his season-high with four three-pointers in the Blue Hens' 76-62 home victory over CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 20. He went 7 of 11 from the field while adding six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in 35 minutes of action.

Anderson, who reached double figures eight times this season including the last three contests. He averaged 13.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, a 1.8 assist/turnover ratio, 2.9 assists per game and 33.2 minutes played per game.

Anderson has appeared in and started in 11 games this season before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
