NEW STANTON, PA (10/14/2011)(readMedia)-- Motorists on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline in Westmoreland County will encounter single-lane patterns between mileposts 66 and 71 westbound and eastbound starting at 7 p.m. Oct. 14 until 11 a.m. Oct. 16. The patterns will begin four miles west of the New Stanton exit (#75) and end one mile west of the Irwin exit (#67).
The restriction is needed to move concrete barrier, pave travel lanes and paint lines to accommodate a traffic switch as part of the milepost 67-74 total reconstruction project. Once the contractor begins work, the patterns must stay in place until all work is completed. This work will proceed as weather permits.
Motorists should anticipate delays during Saturday daylight hours and especially on Sunday morning while the single-lane patterns are in place.
