KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (04/07/2011)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists on I-276 to be prepared for intermittent lane closures and multiple 10-minute stoppages April 11-13 between 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning. The closures and stoppages impact eastbound traffic only between the Willow Grove and Bensalem interchanges (exits 343 and 351).
The traffic patterns are needed to allow crews to take pavement samples.
Motorists are urged to use extreme caution and remain alert for slow-moving or stopped traffic when approaching the rolling construction pattern between Willow Grove and Bensalem.
The contractor anticipates work to be completed by 4 a.m. on April 14; however, weather or other issues could cause crews to extend the work another night, starting 7 p.m. April 14 until 4 a.m. April 15.
Message boards will be placed to alert motorists of the scheduled work, and the Turnpike Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) will be activated. Turnpike travelers can tune to 1640 AM or call 866.976.TRIP (8747) for traffic conditions. Motorists are urged to plan their travel accordingly or use an alternate route. For emergencies, dial *11 on your mobile phone.
