ATLANTA, GA (04/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Lawrenceville resident Heather Karvis, a 2003 graduate of Oglethorpe University, will be inducted into the university's Athletic Hall of Fame during Alumni Weekend, April 19-21, 2013 in recognition of her impressive undergraduate basketball career.
Karvis broke into the starting lineup midway through her freshman year and by the end of her four years, she had earned a place in the record books. As a senior, Heather was named the 2002-2003 SCAC Player of the Year, Regional All-American, 1st Team All-South Region, All-SCAC 1st Team, and she finished the year as the second leading scorer in the nation. She finished her career with 1,795 points (third in OU history), 768 rebounds (first in OU history), 535 free throws made (first in OU history), and a career average 19.7 points per game (first in OU history). She currently works as head coach at Westminster Schools in Atlanta, GA.
