Legendary reproductive and civil rights pioneer Bill Baird to speak on “Choice: Past, Present and Future”

Since 1963, Bill Baird has been a leading advocate for women’s and reproductive rights. His landmark case Baird v. Eisenstadt established a right to privacy, legalized birth control for single women and was the foundation for Roe v. Wade, and Baird v. Bellotti I & II, the latter giving minors the right to abortion without parental consent.

Speakers include leaders from the Suffolk County League of Women Voters, the New York Civil Liberties Union, and the Unitarian Universalist Society of South Suffolk.

Several State Assembly Members will be recognized for their support of civil and women's rights legislation.
