Kellenberg Memorial High School congratulates Liam Papagno '26 on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America.
For his Eagle Scout service project, Liam partnered with the AMT Children of Hope Foundation, a Long Island organization dedicated to protecting abandoned infants through Safe Haven services and ensuring dignified burials for abandoned and unclaimed children.
The foundation's founder, Timothy Jaccard, relied on a paper directory of emergency contacts for Nassau and Suffolk Counties that was unfortunately destroyed in a fire. In response, Liam undertook the task of recreating the resource from the ground up. Working alongside members of his troop, he developed a comprehensive digital database containing contact information for Nassau and Suffolk fire departments, fire chiefs, and emergency service numbers.
Liam presented the completed project to Mr. Jaccard in both printed binder form and on digital thumb drives, ensuring that this vital information would be preserved and readily accessible for the foundation's future work.
Through his dedication to a project that supports some of the most vulnerable members of our community, Liam embodies the Marianist spirit of faith, service, and family. Kellenberg Memorial proudly congratulates Liam on earning the rank of Eagle Scout and celebrates this outstanding accomplishment.
