ALBANY, NY (08/15/2012)(readMedia)-- One of the most dynamic members of the media in New York is coming to The Business Council's 2012 Annual Meeting being held at The Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, September 20. Liz Benjamin, host of Capital Tonight, a political program broadcast statewide, will moderate a discussion about politics in the halls of the Capitol with her original "Insiders" team, Steve Greenberg and Bob Bellafiore.

This exciting presentation will give attendees insight into how these three long-time Albany insiders see the November elections playing out and much more. Moderated by Liz Benjamin, Steve and Bob will provide educated and informed opinions on key issues facing voter as well as what factors will influence Albany's power structure. Liz Benjamin hosts Capital Tonight each weeknight on the YNN stations across Upstate New York. Liz joined the YNN political team in April of 2010 after spending more than a decade reporting and blogging about New York politics for the New York Daily News and the Albany Times Union.

In addition to her duties behind the anchor desk, Liz is the driving force behind Capital Tonight's State of Politics blog found on the Capital Tonight, YNN and NY1 websites.

Steven Greenberg and Bob Bellafiore each bring nearly 30 years of experience at senior levels of government, politics, journalism, public relations, public affairs and business. They are two of New York State's most respected communications professionals and are particularly well-known inside Albany's policy and political circles.

Since 2006, Steve and Bob have appeared regularly together as "The Insiders" on Capital Tonight. Journalists across the state regularly seek out their insights into government and politics.

Liz Benjamin – Liz the host of YNN's Capital Tonight, began her career in journalism in 1997 when she joined the staff of the Albany Times Union covering suburban government, Albany City Hall and the State Capitol. She also launched that's paper's political blog, Capitol Confidential – the first blog devoted to state politics and government. She later was a political columnist and blogger at the New York Daily News.

Steve Greenberg - Steve created Greenberg Public Relations after a 20-year career in state government in which he served as Press Secretary to Assembly Speakers Saul Weprin and Mel Miller, and as Communications Director for New York State Comptroller H. Carl McCall. Steve's clients include businesses, non-profits and numerous other organizations. He is also the political pollster for the Siena Research Institute at Siena College. (Link to

Bob Bellafiore - Bob was an Associated Press political reporter before joining The Business Council as Communications Director in 1991. He then served as Gov. Pataki's first Press Secretary and later Deputy Secretary for Policy and Planning. Bob helped start the charter school program in New York and served as President of SUNY's Charter Schools Institute. He later served five years as a member of the SUNY Board of Trustees.

After leaving government, Bob led the public affairs practice at Eric Mower and Associates and this year formed Stanhope Partners, a strategic communications and consulting firm based in the Capital District.
