ALBANY, NY (08/14/2009)(readMedia)-- Sperry Associates Federal Credit Union, based in Garden City Park with branches in Farmingdale and Garden City, received two Pinnacle Marketing Awards from the Credit Union Association of New York at its annual Convention held recently in Saratoga Springs. The credit union was recognized in the Annual Reports category for its 2007 Annual Report and in the Membership Kits category for its Corner Piece Newsletter and Member Kit.

The Pinnacle Marketing Awards recognize credit unions that have designed the most successful and creative marketing campaigns throughout the previous year. Campaigns are judged on clarity of goal, theme, creative execution, quality of production and, of course, results.

"From annual reports to loan programs, this year's marketing award winners clearly showed how planning, originality and results are key components of a credit union's success and growth," said Camille Aleixo, vice president of Marketing and Communications for the Association.

"Our goal is to communicate clearly with our members to provide them with the

information they need to get the best rates and effectively manage their finances. Because they are member-owners, we also need to convey how their credit union is financially and the philanthropic efforts we perform on their behalf within our community. It is especially rewarding for our marketing staff to be recognized by the Association. We are proud of their efforts," said John Kumpel, chairman of Sperry Associates Federal Credit Union.

Sperry Associates Federal Credit Union (www.sperryfcu.org) was founded in 1936. As of July 31, 2009, the credit union had more than $371 million in assets and over 20,000 members.

Credit unions are not-for-profit, member-owned, volunteer-directed financial institutions. The National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund federally insures credit unions. For more information on credit unions and/or becoming a member, visit www.CreditUnionsForYou.com.

The Credit Union Association of New York has served as the trade association for the state's credit unions for 91 years. It is the fourth largest league in the country. New York credit unions have assets of more than $44 billion and 4.3 million members. To learn more about the Association, visit www.cuany.org.
