BATAVIA, NY (10/13/2011)(readMedia)-- The Town of Batavia Fire Department visited the children at the GCCA Child Care Center this morning, as part of National Fire Prevention Week. Local fire departments throughout the region visited day cares and schools this week to promote fire prevention and fire safety.
Town of Batavia firefighters Dan Tran, Joe Avino and Assistant Chief, Nate Fix brought in a fire truck as well as their fire safety gear to educate the children about fire safety. The children were then able to have a hands-on demonstration of the fire hose.
Located at the Batavia campus, the GCCA Child Care Center offers complete childcare services for infants six weeks to preschool aged children. The Center is open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday following the academic calendar.
