Looking for the Stars of the Show
DES MOINES, IA (05/31/2011)(readMedia)-- Lights. . . Camera. . . Action. . . the Iowa State Fair is ready to roll but is in need of the stars of the show. The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and Cookies Food Products are searching for ten outstanding volunteers to be the next Iowan of the Day at the Iowa State Fair. These star community members will be honored at the 2011 Fair August 11 - 21.
Each year, the Blue Ribbon Foundation recognizes Iowans that have made a difference in their communities. These people exemplify the values of our state-integrity, dependability, sense of community and a strong work ethic. With your nomination, the Blue Ribbon Foundation can help honor these volunteers.
To help show our appreciation of these individuals, the Iowans of the Day are given the star treatment! Iowan of the Day winners will receive their own day of recognition during the 2011 Iowa State Fair complete with an introduction on the Anne & Bill Riley Stage, VIP parking, gate admission, use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart and Grandstand show tickets for the evening of their award day. In addition, all winners will receive $200 in cash and accommodations at the Des Moines Downtown Marriott Hotel.

You may also download the form at www.blueribbonfoundation.org/iotd. Note that nominees must currently reside in Iowa. All nominations must also be received by July 1, 2011.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Since 1993, the Foundation has generated more than $80 million for renovations and improvements to the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
