DES MOINES, IA (06/02/2026) (readMedia)-- What makes an outstanding Iowan? The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation thinks it is someone who works hard, gives back to their community, and takes pride in the state of Iowa, all while wearing a smile.

If that sounds like someone you know, its time to celebrate them! The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation with our partner, Cookies Food Products, is seeking nominations for the 2026 Iowan of the Day awards. Ten exceptional individuals will be selected and honored during the 2026 Iowa State Fair, August 13-23.

The Iowan of the Day program shines a spotlight on the people who quietly strengthen our communities every day, These people are the volunteers, mentors, caregivers, educators, veterans, and community champions whose generosity and dedication embody the very best of Iowa. Help us recognize these valued individuals by nominating them today!

Each of the ten winners are awarded a day of recognition at the 2026 Iowa State Fair, including four Iowa State Fair admission tickets, an introduction on the Anne & Bill Riley Stage, four Grandstand concert tickets, use of the Iowan of the Day golf cart, VIP parking, accommodations at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown, and $200 cash. Nomination forms can be found online at www.BlueRibbonFoundation.org/Events/IOTD. All nominations are due by July 1. Nominations from 2023, 2024 and 2025 will be reconsidered. All nominees must currently reside in Iowa.
