Los Angeles Native Joscelyn Stein Receives the James Edward Oglethorpe Award

ATLANTA, GA (06/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Los Angeles native Joscelyn Stein, a 2013 Oglethorpe University graduate, was awarded the esteemed James Edward Oglethorpe Award during the university's commencement ceremony on May 18, 2013. The award is presented annually to the man and woman in the graduating class who, in the opinion of the faculty, have excelled in scholarship, leadership and character.

While at Oglethorpe, Stein pursued her degree in media studies, an independently planned major. She was an active member of the campus community, serving as president of the Student Government Association, sophomore class president, and freshman orientation leader. Stein also was a member of Oglethorpe's Honor Council, Sigma Sigma Sigma, Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society, and the Jewish Student Union. Stein attended University Senior High School in Los Angeles.
