ROCHESTER, NY (03/23/2012)(readMedia)-- The American Lung Association in New York is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its Fight for Air Walk Kick-off Celebration Thursday, March 29 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Egypt Fire Department, located at 7478 Pittsford Palmyra Road in Fairport. The celebration offers area residents an opportunity to learn more about this year's Fight for Air Walk in Perinton Park on May 5 and how they can support the Lung Association's mission to save lives by preventing lung disease and improving lung health.
"We're excited to officially kick-off our Fight for Air Walk with a celebration at the Egypt Fire Department this year," said Jaime Anderson, Development Director at the American Lung Association in New York. "Everyone is welcome to attend to learn more about the walk and the work the American Lung Association is doing to every day promote healthy lungs and clean air in the Rochester area."
A pasta dinner, courtesy of Costello Pizza & Grill, will be served at the celebration. Those registering for the Fight for Air Walk at the event will be eligible to win one of three $50 gift certificates donated by The Cellar Door Restaurant, Dibella's and Wegman's . A separate raffle will be held giving guests the opportunity to win a Scott Miller products gift bag and a silver Pandora bracelet donated by People's Pottery.
"There are so many children and adults in the Greater Rochester area who suffer from asthma and other lung diseases," said Anderson. "We're counting on the Rochester community to join us and help us raise the funds we need to reduce the burden of lung disease on our community."
The Fight for Air Walk is being generously sponsored by Connolly Printing, Monroe Plan for Medical Care, EMC2, Iberdrola USA, and Fairport Savings Bank. This year's media sponsor is 100.5 The Drive.
