Sandy Treadwell, Republican, Independence and Conservative Party candidate for the 20th Congressional District, will join Bill Sutton, Western New York Director of Truckers and Citizens United, as the long-time trucker makes deliveries on Friday, August 15, 2008.
The trip begins near the Washington County Fairgrounds at 5 a.m., with the rig traveling down to Westchester and Putnam counties to make deliveries. The return trip will end at Exit 16 of the Northway (I-87, Wilton) around noon.
Treadwell has had discussions with local truckers regarding their needs and concerns, including the impact of high gas prices and taxes. He recognizes the important role of the trucking industry in our economy and was invited to ride along on a typical day of deliveries to see firsthand how high fuel costs have affected truckers throughout New York State.
Treadwell will be available to do call-in radio interviews during the trip or other media interviews at Scotties Restaurant at Exit 16. Media should contact Peter Constantakes at 518-373-2797 or 518-441-5073 to schedule an interview.
The 20th Congressional District includes all or part of the following 10 counties: Washington, Warren, Essex, Saratoga, Rensselaer, Columbia, Greene, Delaware, Otsego, and Dutchess.
