AUGUSTA, ME (11/06/2014)(readMedia)-- This serves as a media invitation to a State of Maine Gold Star Honorable Service Medal presentation in Rockland, Maine on Tuesday November 11, 2014.
The ceremony will take place at the Winslow-Holbrook Memorial Park at the intersection Park and Main streets at 11:00 A.M.
This ceremony will recognize the service and ultimate sacrifice of two young men from Rockland during World War I.
2LT Albert D. Holbrook died of wounds June 19, 1918 as a Prisoner of War
PFC Arthur E. Winslow died of wounds July 6, 1918
The State of Maine will recognize Maine service members who died during World War I as part of the 100th Anniversary commemoration of World War I.
