SPRINGFIELD, IL (12/14/2016)(readMedia)-- Jacob Rhodes of Macomb, Illinois, was promoted to the rank of captain during a ceremony at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois, Dec. 12.

Rhodes enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in 2011. He serves as the plans officer for the Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Battalion 106th Cavalry Regiment based in Kewanee, Illinois.

Rhode's wife Mia pinned the rank of captain on him during the ceremony.
