Macomb Soldier Promoted to Major

SPRINGFIELD, IL (01/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Capt. Darryl Duessel of Macomb, with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 44th Chemical Battalion in Macomb, was promoted to the rank of major Jan. 6 at Camp Lincoln in Springfield.
Duessel enlisted into the U.S. Army Reserves in 1987 and commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Illinois Army National Guard in 1998. Duessel has served overseas in Germany, Poland and Korea and deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
