ALBANY, NY (06/14/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Canal Corporation will hold a press conference to unveil plans for the New York State Canalway Water Trail along the New York State Canal System on Tuesday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at Mayor's Park in North Tonawanda, Niagara County (directions below).
State and local officials will join with Canal Corporation Director Carmella R. Mantello and other Canal partners.
Members of the media, including photographers, are invited to attend.

Directions to Mayor's Park, North Tonawanda:
Take the NYS Thruway to Interchange 50 (Niagara Falls, I-290) and take the I-290 Expressway West. Take the I-290 North/West for 6.5 miles to Interchange 2, Twin Cities Memorial Highway. Take a right on the Twin Cities Memorial Highway and go approximately 2 miles north. After crossing over the canal, turn right onto Sweeney St. Travel 1 mile on Sweeney St. to Mayor's Park, which will be on the right, across from Dimatteo Dr.
The New York State Canal Corporation is a subsidiary of the New York State Thruway Authority (Authority). Since 1992, following State legislation transferring the Canal System from the New York State Department of Transportation to the Authority, Canal operating and maintenance activities have been supported by Thruway toll revenue.
