Media Advisory/Event Cancellation - Kosciuszko Bridge Press Briefing Canceled

ALBANY, NY (02/18/2010)(readMedia)-- Due to scheduling conflicts, the press briefing by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) scheduled for today at 2:00 PM regarding the conceptual designs for the new Kosciuszko Bridge has been cancelled.

The press is welcome to attend the open house, which will begin at 3 PM at Christ the King Regional High School, 68-02 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, Queens, and will include video presentations of computer simulations of four potential bridge designs.

Directions to the Open House:

From midtown Manhattan and western Queens:

Take the Queens Midtown Tunnel to the Long Island Expressway. Proceed along the LIE approximately 5 miles to exit 19, Woodhaven Blvd/ Queens Blvd. Upon exiting, turn right onto Woodhaven Boulevard, then right again onto Eliot Avenue. Follow Eliot Avenue a little over one mile to 69th St., turning left. One-half mile along 69th St., turn right onto Metropolitan Avenue. Christ the King High School is 500 feet on the left.

From lower Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn

Take the Manhattan Bridge to the eastbound Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Proceed to Exit 32, Metropolitan Ave/Williamsburg Br/Manhattan. Turn right onto Metropolitan Avenue and proceed approximately one mile to Morgan Avenue, turning right and then left onto Grand Avenue. At the next intersection, make a slight right to again rejoin Metropolitan Avenue, and proceed approximately 2? miles. Christ the King High School is on the right, just past BJ's Wholesale Club.

Subway/Bus:

Take the M subway line to Metropolitan Avenue/Middle Village station, or take the Q38, Q54 or Q67 bus to Metropolitan Avenue and 69th St.
