Medina Besic Named SAA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Junior forward Medina Besic of the Oglethorpe University women's soccer team has been named the Southern Athletic Association Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week (September 1-7) for her efforts in a pair of Stormy Petrel victories.

Besic tallied six total points with two goals and two assists over the course of the two games. She recorded a goal and an assist in both the team's 4-0 win at LaGrange on Friday and their 3-0 win over Averett at Piedmont's Bradford Classic on Sunday. She is currently tied for fifth in the league with six points and two goals.

She and the rest of the Stormy Petrels will be back in action on Friday and Sunday when they host a pair of games at the Oglethorpe Track and Field. They'll welcome Bob Jones University in their home opener on Friday at 6 p.m. before following up with a game against Huntingdon College on Sunday at 5 p.m.
