Meet PEF Nurses Who Volunteered in Puerto Rico at the National Puerto Rican Day Parade
ALBANY, NY (06/09/2018) (readMedia)-- Nurses represented by the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF) will participate in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Manhattan. The nurses were among the first to volunteer and respond to the victims of Hurricane Maria. They will be on a float sponsored by PEF's Hispanic Committee. They are considered heroes by their union.

WHAT: | Nurses represented by PEF will be part of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, on a float sponsored by PEF’s Hispanic Committee. Llamara Padro-Milano and Carolyn Cole were among the first responders who volunteered their time and nursing expertise to help the victims of Hurricane Maria. The recent findings of the Harvard University study that more then 4,645 people died after the aftermath has inspired them to share their stories. |
