PEF members rally for a Fair Contract
Union to send message to Gov. Hochul with gathering at State Captiol
ALBANY, NY (06/02/2026) (readMedia)-- Members of New York State's professional, scientific and technical workforce -- represented by the Public Employees Federation (PEF) -- are taking their message directly to Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday, June 4 at 12pm. Hundreds of civil servants will gather in West Capitol Park to deliver a loud and proud message: It's past time for a FAIR CONTRACT!
PEF has been in contract negotiations with New York State since February. The 60,000-strong, member-driven union's top prioity is a contract that addresses the affordability crisis every member is feeling. From New York City to Buffalo, PEF members are struggling to provide for themselves and their families. From housing to gas to groceries, the squeeze on the wallets of hardworking PEF members is leaving members without enough to sustain themselves.
PEF members work hard every day for millions of New Yorkers across the state and deserve a contract that not only compensates them for their hard work but helps them make ends meet and fights back against rising inflation.
