Meet Top New England Chefs at Yale Appliance

Taste Inspired Creations at 12th Annual Yale Home Show

BOSTON, MA (02/09/2011)(readMedia)-- Most homes only have one kitchen, but thankfully for those seeking the latest kitchen appliances, Yale Appliance and Lighting has nine live kitchens they use for a wide variety of demonstrations. On February 12 and 13, and again from February 19 to 21,those kitchens will be busy from 10 AM to 6 PM as some of New England's most notable chefs take part in the 12th Annual Yale Home Show.

Some of the big names dropping by the home appliance store this month include Andy Husbands of Tremont 647 and Sister Sorel, Doug Keiles of the Ribs Within BBQ team, Billy Strynkowski of Cooking Light, Jason Santos of Gargoyles on the Square and Kurt Von Kahle of Kurt's Kitchen. These renowned chefs will be occupying Yale's many brand-themed kitchens, which are stocked with ovens, microwaves, cooktops and refrigerators from Electrolux, the sponsor of this year's Home Show, Viking, Frigidaire, JennAir and Thermador.

Chef German Lam of Glam Foods will be manning the Electrolux kitchen from 12 PM to 3PM on Saturday, February 12, the first day of the Home Show. Using a full array of Electrolux ovens, cooktops and ranges, he'll be making Roasted Pork "Spanish BBQ Rubbed Spice" Tenderloin, Butternut Squash Cinnamon Ginger Oatmeal Risotto with Scallions and Apple Cranberry Orange Relish.

"Every year we get excited to see what our award-winning chefs will concoct, and they never disappoint," said Steve Sheinkopf, owner of Yale Appliance and Lighting. "These are some of the leading culinary figures in New England, and we provide them with the latest in cooking appliances from the leading brands on the market. When you combine their expertise with the newest cooking technology, the results are impressive."

If watching elite cooks work their magic and enjoying the fruits of their labors isn't reward enough, Yale is also giving away 10 $100 gift cards, which customers can enter to win at the Yale Home Show website. With one of these gift cards, winners can get big savings on the cutting-edge appliances used by the chefs during the Home Show. In honor of the Home Show, Yale is also offering a variety of kitchen and laundry appliance package deals on brands ranging from Bosch to Frigidaire.

"Watching these professionals cook up a storm with our latest kitchen appliances is inspirational, and a big step toward creating the perfect meal is having the right tools at your disposal," Sheinkopf added. "We love to help our customers realize the full potential of their kitchens, and events like the Home Show let us illustrate what these home appliances can do. You might not want to make a Roasted Pork Tenderloin like German Lam's, but with the modern ovens, ranges and cooktops available in our showroom, you'll discover how much fun your kitchen can be, even if you're just frying up some eggs."
