Michael Pastore of West Babylon, N.Y., received three awards during Honors Convocation held on April 30.
He earned the Mathematics Association of America Membership Award, presented to a mathematics major for high academic achievement and strong professional promise in a mathematics-related career.
Pastore was also awarded the Richard J. Kohlmeyer and Edward Rayher Award, established in memory of two former Hartwick mathematics faculty members. It recognizes a mathematics major who has done outstanding work in the field.
Additionally, he received the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Membership Award, which includes a yearlong membership in the Council and is awarded to a student showing exceptional promise in mathematics education.
