LENOX, MA (05/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day School, an independent school for students in Preschool through Grade Nine, and the Berkshire Hills Regional School District will host a presentation in Fitzpatrick Hall on BCD's Campus on Route 183 in Stockbridge, on Wednesday, May 15 at 7 pm by Dr. Michael Thompson, consultant, author, and psychologist specializing in children and families. In his Homesick and Happy program, Dr. Thompson will discuss the eight things parents cannot do for your children, and why summer camps and school trips offer a new venue for the child's growth, urging helicopter parents to land their hovercraft and set their kids free for the summer. The program is free of charge and open to the public.

Dr. Thompson is the supervising psychologist for the Belmont Hill School and has worked in more than five hundred schools across the United States, as well as in international schools in Central America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Dr. Thompson is the author of Best Friends, Worst Enemies, Raising Cain, and Homesick and Happy.
