CHESTERTOWN, MD (04/16/2013)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce that Mike Liberto '14 of Severna Park, MD recently played the role of Henry in Washington College's production of The Fantasticks, a senior thesis directed by drama major Lauren Oswald '13.
The Fantasticks tells the story of a young couple in love as they deal with the imposing wall that separates them and the feud between their fathers. Originally produced in 1960, the musical, which features such well-known songs as "Try to Remember" and "They Were You," played for 17,162 performances before closing on January 13, 2002, making it the longest-running production in the history of the stage and one of most frequently produced musicals in the world.
Liberto is majoring in drama and minoring in English. He is a member of Washington College's a cappella group, WACapella, and is the Student Events Board director of mainstage events. A graduate of Archbishop Spalding High School, Liberto is also a recipient of the President's Scholarship.
