Military Museum to host "Back from Baghdad"

SPRINGFIELD, IL (04/11/2014)(readMedia)-- The Illinois State Military Museum will host "Back from Baghdad" featuring veterans of the Illinois National Guard's 233rd Military Police Company and historian Richard Schachtsiek to mark the tenth anniversary of the unit's return from Operation Iraqi Freedom.

• Richard Schachtsiek holds a master’s degree in historical administration from Eastern Illinois University; managed historic sites for the state of Illinois for more than 20 years; has been a living historian and re-enactor for more than 40 years; and has volunteered with the Illinois State Military Museum for more than a decade, serving as the assistant curator for the last six years.
