SPRINGFIELD, IL (06/15/2018) (readMedia)-- Sgt. Jacob Smith, of Montgomery, Illinois, was sworn into the Illinois National Guard Judge Advocate Corps as a second lieutenant, June 15, at Camp Lincoln, Springfield, Illinois.

Before commissioning, Smith served as am enlisted 88M, truck driver, and has seven years of service with the ILNG.

Smith is a graduate of the University Of Illinois College Of Law and the University of Illinois and holds the Juris Doctorate as well as a Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
