LATHAM, NY (12/09/2025) (readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Capt. Kevin T. Walsh, a Poughkeepsie resident, took command of a Farmingdale-based National Guard vehicle maintenance company during a Dec. 6, 2025, ceremony.
Walsh, who joined the New York Army National Guard in 2016, took command of Echo Company of the 3rd Battalion, 142nd Assault Helicopter Battalion.
Walsh received his commission through Office Candidate School in 2018 and graduated from the Transportation Basic Officer Leader Course in 2019.
He has served as a truck platoon leader, a medium truck company executive officer, and plans officer for the 369th Sustainment Brigade and operations officer for the 369th Special Troops Battalion.
In 2022 and 2023 he served as the rear detachment commander for the 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment while that unit was deployed in the Horn of Africa. From 2023 to 2025 he also served as rear detachment office in charge for the 1569th Medium Truck Company, while that unit was deployed.
Walsh has been awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from SUNY Binghampton and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
