NY Insurance Department to present its first webinar focusing on "me too" property/casualty insurer filings
NEW YORK, NY (01/18/2011)(readMedia)-- The New York State Insurance Department is sponsoring a webinar to help property/casualty insurers better understand how the Department reviews what insurance industry professionals refer to as "me too" filings, policies already approved for sale by other insurers.
The webinar will be offered from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3. Registration is required.
"This will be the Department's first webinar presentation so we look forward to giving property/casualty insurers an opportunity to get real time guidance on how to successfully submit a new filing. We are also exploring the idea of presenting webinars on additional topics," Insurance Superintendent James Wrynn said.
"The idea for presenting a webinar stems from the work of the Insurance Filings Modernization Initiative, the joint Department-industry working group that focused on how the Department can streamline its internal review and other processes to better serve the public and the insurance industry," Wrynn said.
The webinar will be presented by Maurice Morgenstern, Deputy Chief of the Department's Property Bureau. A question and answer session will be conducted at the end of his presentation.
Registration prior to the webinar will be required and can be done by following the instructions provided at this link on the Department's website, http://www.ins.state.ny.us/insurers/property/ip_imp_notice_prop.htm.
Participation will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The program will be repeated if the number of individuals seeking to participate exceeds the webinar's capacity.
