Nashville's Savannah LeGate earns SAA Player of the Week honors at Oglethorpe University

The Southern Athletic Association named Oglethorpe junior center Savannah LeGate as the SAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Dec. 15-21). LeGate led the Stormy Petrels to a pair of victories over LeTourneau University and Belhaven University on December 16 and 17 in the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Classic at Oglethorpe's Dorough Field House.

LeGate averaged 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in the two wins. She scored 24 points and grabbed 13 boards in the Stormy Petrels' 89-85 overtime victory over LeTourneau, then came back a day later with 16 points and 15 rebounds in an 81-76 win over Belhaven.

The Petrel center leads the conference in offensive rebounding with 4.3 per game, and also places second in the league with 89 total rebounds. She's recorded four double-doubles on the year, placing her second in that category.
