National Guard Unit Mobilization Ceremony

RALEIGH, NC (03/01/2011)(readMedia)-- The North Carolina National Guard will be hosting a mobilization ceremony for members of the 130th Financial Management Company at NCNG Joint Force Headquarters, located at 4105 Reedy Creek Road, here at 11 a.m. on March 2.

The unit, headquartered in Siler City, N.C., is comprised of almost 30 Soldiers, and will be deploying to Kuwait to support finance detachments, already in country, with administrative and fiscal control of disbursement of currency, accounting support and technical oversight over finance operations.

The unit's last deployment was to Iraq in 2004, where they were responsible for over $30 million per month in transactions without any significant losses. They also transported almost $20 million per month from Germany to Iraq and assisted all branches of the military and most of the civilian work force stationed in Iraq and Kuwait with financial support. Almost half of the unit has been deployed previously.
