AUGUSTA, ME (02/03/2015)(readMedia)-- Col. (Promotable) Michael J. Bouchard announced today that Command Sgt. Maj. Scott M. Doyon is appointed as the State Command Sergeant Major for the Maine Army National Guard effective February 7, 2015.
"Command Sgt. Maj. Doyon has provided a consistent example of character and leadership in service to the Maine Army National Guard," Bouchard said. "He is highly respected and is a leader of character, integrity and intellect and he is the right person to lead our enlisted formation. I look forward to serving with Command Sgt. Maj. Doyon as we navigate through these uncertain and complex times and lead the Maine Army National Guard to success."
Doyon enlisted in the US Army as an active duty Soldier in 1991. After his initial service obligation was finished, Doyon joined the Maine Army National Guard as an infantryman in 1998.
Doyon's most recent assignments include the Command Sgt. Maj. for the 52nd Troop Command in Augusta, 521st Troop Command Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. and the senior enlisted advisor to the Maine Counter Drug Task Force. He has served on multiple deployments to the Middle East in key leadership roles.
"I am extremely proud to have been selected as the 13th State Command Sergeant Major for the Maine Army National Guard," Doyon said. "I look forward to facing the challenges of the position and assisting the Maine Army National Guard to move forward."
Doyon is replacing Richard L. Hannibal who was selected to serve in AFRICOM.
