New York Air National Guard's 107th Airlift Wing Enlists Seven Recruits to Mark 9/11 Anniversary

Seven new members join the Air National Guard on Sept. 11, 2012.

LATHAM, NY (09/12/2012)(readMedia)-- The New York Air National Guard's 107th Airlift Wing marked the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon by enlisting seven new Airmen.

The new Airmen were sworn in by 107th Airlift Wing Command Col. Jim McCready, while standing in front of a C-130 cargo plane which had just returned from Afghanistan. Family members of the new Airman watched the ceremony.

Enlisting in the 107th Airlift Wing are:

•Airman 1st Class Kirsten Peyton, from East Quague. A graduate of Westhamton Beach High School , Peyton plans to be a C-130 Pilot.

•Airman Lauren Libassi, from Niagara Falls, NY. A graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School , Libassi wants to specialize in Knowledge Operations Management.

•Airman 1st Class Catherine Stoddard, from Middleport, NY. A graduate of Royalton-Hartland HS, she wants to work in the field of Bioenvironmental Engineering.

•Airman 1st Class Thomas Leaming, from Olympia, Wash. A graduate of Lewiston Port High School, Leaming wants to work in Knowledge Operations Management.

•Senior Airman Shannon Carr, from North Tonawanda, NY. A North Tonawanda High School graduate, Carr wants to serve in the Air Force Security Forces.

•Airman Kyle Druzbik, from Orchard Park, NY. The Orchard Park High School graduates plans to train as a C-130 Aircraft Mechanic.

•Airman John Danvir, from Wheatfield, NY. Dnavir, a graduate of Niagara – Wheatfield High School wants to train as a C-130 Aircraft Mechanic.

"This was a memorable day for all. I'm happy to serve with these new man and women. I wish them all the best of luck in their careers," said Tech. Sgt. Krystalore Stegner, one of the wing's recruiting sergeants.
