New York National Guard Counterdrug Task Force Supports Bronx District Attorney's Event

BRONX, NY (05/03/2012)(readMedia)-- The New York National Guard Counterdrug Task Force will provide a drug prevention program for kids attending the Bronx District Attorney's Youth Pride Day on Saturday, May 5.
The four Soldiers and Airman team will be at the Gleason Park Avenue Park in the Bronx from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Rockwall Challenge is a unique constructive learning opportunity for youth 8 -17 years old. The kids will attend a 45 minute interactive, classroom session led by an instructor. Goal setting, life challenges and healthy choices are discussed. Students then use these concepts while climbing the wall.
The New York National Guard Counterdrug Task Force offers partnerships and support to community based organizations in the drug prevention effort. By offering the New York National Guard's unique and specialized resources, the New York National Guard Counterdrug Task Force provides their civilian counterparts with the tools they need to fight the spread of drugs in New York.
The task force is composed to New York Army and Air National Guard members who provide specialized assistance to law enforcement and also conducts drug prevention programs around the state.
