New York State AFL-CIO Announces Endorsement of Micah Kellner for Assembly

(Special Election to be held for 65th Assembly District on June 5th)

NEW YORK, NY (05/15/2007)(readMedia)-- Denis Hughes, President of the 2 1/2 million member New York State AFL-CIO today announced the State Labor Federation's endorsement of Micah Kellner for Assembly. The special election for the open seat in the 65th assembly district is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5th.

President Hughes stated, "The New York State AFL-CIO is pleased to announce its endorsement of Micah Kellner for Assembly."

"As a grass roots community activist Micah Kellner has displayed a keen awareness and understanding of the issues, needs and concerns important to working men and women.

Upon receiving the endorsement, Micha Kellner stated, "I am honored to receive the endorsement of the New York State AFL-CIO. My work as a community activist on issues such as affordable housing, my background as a member of the Democratic State Committee, and my experience working for Democratic elected officials such as Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, since my days in college, leave me with a deep appreciation and respect for the role working men and women play in making this the Empire State. I look forward to going to Albany to represent the needs and interests of all working New Yorkers."

The New York State AFL-CIO represents 5,000 union members in the 65th Assembly District.
