The New York State AFL-CIO, representing 2 ½ million union members, today announced the following endorsements for special election races taking place on September 13th:

9th Congressional District: David Weprin

23rd Assembly District: Phillip Goldfeder

27th Assembly District: Mike Simanowitz

73rd Assembly District: Dan Quart

116th Assembly District: Anthony Brindisi

144th Assembly District: Sean Ryan

New York State AFL-CIO President Denis Hughes stated, "The New York State AFL-CIO is pleased to announce its endorsement of these impressive candidates. Each has reached out to local unions in their districts, and has shown a keen awareness and understanding of the issues, needs and concerns of working men and women. They have received substantial local union support, and thus the broader support of the statewide labor movement."
