New York State AFL-CIO Endorses Dan Maffei for Congress
ALBANY, NY (06/11/2012)(readMedia)-- Today, the NYS AFL-CIO, which represents 2.5 million union members, their families, and retirees, announced that it has endorsed Dan Maffei for Congress.
NYS AFL-CIO President Mario Cilento said, "The last two years have been an eye opener for the working men and women that call the 24th Congressional District home. Dan Maffei was a strong and passionate advocate for his constituents in Congress, and his leadership has been sorely missed over the last two years. We need Dan Maffei back in Washington fighting for middle class New Yorkers."
"I'm honored to receive the endorsement of the working men and women who make up the New York State AFL-CIO, and to work with like minded New Yorkers to fight for our middle class," said Dan Maffei. "We need to do more to create good-paying jobs that support our families, and I look forward to sharing that message with every voter in the 24th District"
"The labor movement will mount a full-court press to elect Dan Maffei to Congress because Central New York simply can't afford another two years of wasted opportunity," added Cilento.
The NYS AFL-CIO represents approximately 65,000 working men and women in the 24th Congressional District.
